Adding a table of contents

Make it easy for readers to browse and find content by adding a table of contents to the page.

About this task

The table of contents is generated by a macro that extracts text that is formatted as, for example Heading 1, 2, and 3. When you view the content as HTML Source, these headings are defined in <h1>, <h2>, and <h3> tags. The table automatically updates when you add or remove content that is tagged with these headings.

To add a table of contents to a wiki page:

Procedure

1. From the navigation bar, click Wikis and select the wiki you want to work on.
2. Select the page you want to edit, and then click Edit.
3. In the Rich Text editor, place the cursor where you want the table of contents to be displayed, then click the Insert Table icon in the editor toolbar.
4. Specify the number of rows and columns you want the table to have, then click OK.
